Codiac Regional RCMP are investigating a case of home invasion and abduction that occurred in Moncton.

Shortly before 4 p.m. on August 26, 2014, Codiac RCMP were advised that a man had broken into a house on McLaughlin Drive and would have taken an 18-year-old woman against her will. The man and the woman were known to each other. 

Police were able to determine that the suspect travelled to Miramichi area before returning to Moncton. Miramichi Police and other RCMP Detachments were involved in the search along with the RCMP Air Services helicopter. The victim was located around 8 p.m. in Moncton. She had sustained minor physical injuries. Codiac RCMP are continuing their investigation. The suspect has been identified, but has not yet been arrested.
