Winnipeg man Michael Tyler John Boubard charged with second degree murder

On August 25, 2014 shortly after 5:00 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of Austin Street North for the report of a male having been stabbed.

Attending members located an adult male suffering from an apparent stab wound to the upper body.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as Jeffery Campbell, 25 years of Winnipeg.

The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit.

It was learned that the accused had been at the residence consuming drugs when he became involved in a dispute with the victim.  The accused proceeded to arm himself with a weapon and stab the victim multiple times in the upper body.

Shortly before midnight on August 26th a suspect was located and arrested without incident in the area of Bannatyne Avenue and Lydia Street.

Michael Tyler John Boubard, 21 years of Winnipeghas been charged with 2nd Degree Murder for his alleged involvement.

He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
