Hundreds of his Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s supporters and well-wishers were present to have a chance of greeting the Mayor and buying a $30 autographed bobblehead. The sale was set on the driveway of his mom’s Etobicoke home on Monday, where he signed bobbleheads to people who often wore Ford Nation shirts and excitedly posed for pictures with his brother Doug Ford.

Approximately 1,000 Ford dolls were available for sale, proceeds from which were announced to be going to the Humber River Regional Hospital. Moreover, the Fords also promised to match donations with an eye to increasing the donation to $100,000. The Councillor clarified that “no one’s going to leave without a bobblehead,” alleging that people were starting to line up at around 6 a.m. and hundreds of the dolls had been purchased by noon. However, many analysts claim that the sale of the third edition Ford bobbleheads has not attracted half as many buyers as past efforts which took place inside City Hall. Ford elucidated that “during the election, the city didn’t want to hold it on city property,” adding that “that would’ve been ideal to have it at City Hall, but we were unable to do that and couldn’t put it in any parks.”

One of the prospective buyers and Ford supporter, Wendy Cox, waited in line since 7 a.m. and later said that “we love Rob Ford.” Cox stated that “we really really do. He’s done a lot for the city and when he gets voted back in again, he will do more,” adding that “he’s done lots for the city and he deserves to be mayor,” he said. “They should give him back his power.”
