A Surrey woman dies in a fatal motor vehicle crash at Mira Road, Sydney, N.S.

Cape Breton RCMP Traffic Services are at the scene of a single vehicle motor vehicle crash on Highway 125 in Sydney. Witnesses say that at approximately 5:00 am, a vehicle travelling eastbound left the highway and flipped. A passenger in the vehicle, a 59-year-old female from Surrey, British Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

RCMP officers are being assisted by the Cape Breton Regional Police, the Cape Breton Regional Traffic Safety Unit, EHS, Fire and Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. 

The 125 highway at exit 8 is temporarily closed and traffic is being diverted to exit 8 and Grand Lake Road while police continue their investigation.
