A fatal All-Terrain-Vehicle crash in Chester Basin claims youth driver’s life

Lunenburg County RCMP is investigating a single all-terrain-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 14-year-old male.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on September 1st, 2014, Lunenburg County District RCMP andEmergency Health Services responded to a single all-terrain vehicle crash in Chester Basin. Preliminary investigation determined the driver, a 14-year-old boy, was travelling along the Canada Trail (old railway bed) where the ATV had collided with a tree. The boy was found a short distance away from the damaged ATV. The 14-year-old, who was from the Chester area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An RCMP traffic analyst is assisting investigators. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
