One of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s former advisers, Mark Towhey, has announced to release a “tell-all” book about his time in the mayor’s office before he was fired last year. The book is authored by Mr. Towhey and Canadian freelance journalist, Johanna Schneller, is titled “Mayor Rob Ford: Behind the Scenes, My Attempt to Help the Belligerent Mayor.”

The publisher of the book, Skyhorse Publishing, has boasted that it recounts events surrounding the mayor’s drug use from February to May 2013 and several headlines that the mayor had during that time. These incidents include when he was asked to leave a gala after being accused of inappropriately touching former mayoral candidate Sarah Thomson, the existence of the so-called “crack tape” and the mayor’s firing from the position of a high school football coach. Skyhorse’s website states that “through it all, Ford’s former chief of staff, Mark Towhey, stood by his side. Towhey was part of Ford’s inner circle.”

In addition to that, the publisher ads that the book gives an inside account of a confidential conversation between Ford and Towhey in May, 2013. It says that “thus far, the public only knows two words from that conversation; Towhey told Ford to ‘get help.’ They also know what happened next, Towhey was fired.” Furthermore, the publisher has called the book a “must-read” for all Torontonians voting in the mayoral election, especially for Ford fans “all over the world.” It was highlighted that this is not a revenge book, but just an up-close look at the mayor and what goes on in City Hall.
