Following an autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, the victim of a weekend homicide has been identified.

It has been determined that Susan Rae Elko, 39, died as the result of a stabbing.

Background:

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, police responded to the 200 block of Holy Cross Lane S.W., for a report of a woman in medical distress. When emergency crews arrived, they found a woman in her 40s dead on scene.

Investigators believe the two were in a relationship and this was a domestic-related homicide.

The victim’s identity will be released pending formal identification and an autopsy scheduled for today, Monday, Sept. 15, 2014.

Scott Monrow Fetguson, 24, of Calgary, has been charged with second-degree murder. He will next appear in court this morning.
