On Friday, October 17, 2014, the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Section charged an Ottawa man following an investigation into two separate reports of child sexual abuse dating back to 1998.
The offences took place between September 1998 and October 2014. The two victims were between the ages of 5 and 9 years old at the time of the offence.
Patrick Gilles Lavergne, 34 years old, of Ottawa is charged with two counts of Sexual Interference with a person under 16 years of age, two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a young person, and one count of Print/Publish/Possess to Publish Child Pornography and one count of Unlawfully Possess Child Pornography.
He is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on Wednesday, October 22.
Investigators believe that there could be further victims.
