Over $125,000 worth of drugs seized in Oshawa

Two separate DRPS investigations have resulted in multiple arrests and over $125,000 in drugs seized.

On November 12, 2010 members of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) commenced an investigation into the trafficking of Oxycontin in Oshawa. Officers stopped two males exiting the westbound 401 and arrested both in possession of 500 Oxycontin tablets.

Further investigation lead to a hotel in Kingston, Ontario where DRPS officers, with the assistance of O.P.P. and Kingston Police, arrested a male leaving the hotel and seized 54 additional Oxycontin tablets and $19,800 cash. In total, the street value of the drug is estimated at over $22,000. Search warrants at two addresses in Oshawa yielded an additional $2,500 in American currency and an ounce of marihuana.

Frederick KOCH, age 62, of Oshawa is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2. Ralph BARTODZIEJ, age 55, of Oshawa is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Scott BEVIN, age 39 of Kingston is charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. All three accused persons were held for bail hearings.

In a separate investigation, members of the DRPS Gang Enforcement Unit (GEU) concluded a cocaine trafficking investigation on November 12th with officers stopping a 2002 Denali in Ajax. They arrested the owner of the vehicle who was in possession of 797 grams of cocaine and a quantity of steroids. A search warrant executed at the residence of the accused in Courtice resulted in the seizure of small quantities of marihuana and hashish.

Russell Shawn REESOR, age 35, of Courtice is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance x2. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators also arrested a second male leaving a gym in Toronto while in possession of 67 grams of marihuana and 5 grams of hashish. Marlon PREMA, age 35, of Toronto is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The accused was released on an Undertaking with Conditions.

An additional suspect was arrested leaving the fitness facility and found to be in possession of 6.1 g of marihuana. Search warrants were executed at his Toronto residence and at the gym which he owned in Toronto. Seized from the residence in Toronto was $6,000 cash and $4,000 worth of silver bars. Seized from “Natural Bodies”, the fitness facility on Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto was 2,022 grams of marihuana; a cocaine press; 416 grams of hashish and a large assortment of steroids.

Pasquale MANCUSO, age 36, of Toronto is charged with: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance x2; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2 and Possession of a Controlled Substance x2. Total street value of the seizures is $109,500. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
