On November 16, 2010 at approximately 10:05 p.m., a lone male attended to a convenience store located in the 500 block of William Avenue and confronted the store clerk in an aggressive manner, demanding money and stealing cigarettes. Other customers in the store intervened, at which time the suspect armed himself with a metal object. The customers were able to restrain the suspect and hold him until police arrival.

Marcel LOUGHEED, 31 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:

Robbery with a Weapon
Fail to comply with Recognizance x 4
He has been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
