The father of an undisclosed teenager, arrested for making fake calls to emergency services across North America, has mentioned in a press statement that new evidence has come to light that proves his son’s innocence. He thanked someone alleging to be a part of the vigilante hacker group, Anonymous, and insisted that “it’s the truth,” adding that “I’ve known my son is innocent from the word go.”

The hacker group mentioned earlier on Sunday that they are helping to clear the youth’s name because they believe he was framed. According to the group, they’ll be revealing more documents in near future that would help exonerate the kid. The teen was arrested in May and accused of numerous cases of what’s described by police as “swatting.” Consequently, the teen’s father mentioned that “we will not rest, we will not stop, until the police admit their mistake and drop all charges against the innocent youth.” The father announced to have had created a website to unveil the alleged evidence that would prove that his son was framed.

Upon inquiry by reporters regarding the evidence provided by the hacker group, the accused’s father refrained from talking specifics. He alleged that “think of it this way: There’s a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle that has been thrown on a table,” adding that “you have no picture of what the jigsaw will ultimately look like, but you have this little piece with an alias, and this piece with a website and this piece with a domain registration.”
