Mother of recently deceased 27-year-old Kyle Sinclair, Anna Loveman, revealed to have received word on Friday afternoon that her was injured and taken to hospital. Loveman alleged that “they just said that he was in critical condition and you should get up there right now.” Serving in the Canadian army at CFB Petawawa, Sinclair, died not long after the injury allegedly caused by an “unfortunate incident.”

According to The Globe and Mail report published on Sunday, Sinclair suffered traumatic head injuries when a seat malfunctioned while he was changing oil in a Coyote patrol vehicle. Consequently, Sinclair was found alive but unconscious at the scene and was rushed to Pembroke General Hospital, where he was resuscitated. Soon after that, Sinclair was transferred in critical condition to Ottawa Civic Hospital on Friday evening but failed to survive and passed away just before midnight. The Defence Department confirmed that Craftsman Sinclair was on a training program with the Royal Canadian Dragoons at the time of the accident.

According to Loveman, though she hurried to the hospital, she did not get a chance to speak to her son before he died. She said that “I couldn’t believe it.” Loveman described her son as “the protector” of the family, explaining that “if anybody messed with his family, he would be right there.” Whereas on the other hand, commander of the Canadian Army, Lt.-Gen. Marquis Hainse, mentioned that Sinclair “passed away surrounded by family and friends moments before midnight on the day of the incident.”
