On the morning of November 24th, 2014, the Hamilton Police with the assistance of the Service’s Marine Unit recovered the human remains of a male in a flood basin located in the area of Watercrest Drive and Seabreeze Crescent in Stoney Creek.

A citizen walking in the area observed the human remains and notified police.

Due to the advanced stages of decomposition, a positive identification of the body cannot be made at this time. A secondary means of identification such as DNA comparison will have to be undertaken. Such examination and analysis may take several weeks.

A Post Mortem examination to assist in determining a cause of death is scheduled for today.
