Halifax Regional Police have announced in a press release issued today to have arrested two suspects in Catie Miller’s murder case. 33-year-old Kelly Amanda MacDonald is facing charges of first-degree murder and indecently interfering with a dead body, while 30-year-old George Edward Hubley faces charges of accessory to murder after the fact and indecently interfering with a dead body. Both suspects are anticipated to appear in provincial court in Dartmouth this morning.

An electrician and mother of a three-year-old, Miller, was missing since July 15 until the police told her family on Nov 26 that she was presumed dead. Miller’s father and brother alleged to be heartbroken after hearing the news and confirmed to be holding a service to remember Catie on Saturday at the Bedford Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. MacDonald and Hubley are both known to Jason James Johnson, who faces charges of first-degree murder and indecently interfering with a dead body.

According to the press release, police confirmed that “human remains were located late yesterday afternoon at one of the four locations,” adding “however, it has yet to be determined if they are the remains of murder victim Catie Miller and we anticipate that this process will take some time.” Police are not saying where the remains were located. Bourdages stated that “we cannot begin to imagine how difficult this week’s developments, coupled with all the information in the media, must be for Catie Miller’s family and friends,” adding that “we extend our sincere sympathies to them.”
