Police seek suspects in the murder of Melvin Gomez in Toronto

On Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 2:53 a.m., police responded to a shooting call at the Col. Mustard Bar, 3030 Don Mills Road, in the Peanut Plaza.

Officers located a man suffering from an obvious gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Two other bar patrons received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the gunfire.

It is reported that:

– several patrons became involved in an altercation inside the bar,

– a man fired several shots inside the bar, then fled with a second man, southbound through the Peanut Plaza.

The victim has been identified as Melvin Gomez, 24, of Toronto. A post-mortem examination is to be scheduled.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1: brown complexion, 5’5”-5’6”, 120–130 lbs., early 30s, wearing a black hoodie, black pants, blue baseball cap with ear flaps and armed with a handgun.

Suspect #2: light-brown complexion, 6’-6’2”, 260-280 lbs., late 30s, wearing a grey zippered sweatshirt with a hood, white shirt with an unknown logo and dark jeans.
