Three people charged with robbery in Hamilton

The Hamilton Police Service has arrested and charged three males alleged to be involved in three separate robberies in Hamilton.

On October 12th, 2010 at approximately 11:00 p.m. two male suspects entered the Hasty Market located at 581 Main St. E. and forced the clerk to open the cash register. The suspects took the cash and fled the store.

On October 23rd, 2010 at approximately 11:00 p.m. two male suspects entered the 2 For 1 Pizza Restaurant located at 447 Main St. E. and forced the clerk to open the register while a second employee was ordered to the ground and held at the rear of the store. After removing the cash from the register, the two fled on foot.

On November 9th, 2010 at approximately 9:00 p.m. three male suspects entered the Big Bear Variety located at 524 Barton St. E. One suspect was wearing a "scream" mask, another was wearing a small white mask and the third suspect was unmasked but was wearing a dark hoody up over his head. While the suspects attempted to take the cash from the register the clerk managed to pull the mask off one of the suspects. All three males fled the building on foot empty handed.

The Hamilton Police Service Break, Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) Unit continued to investigate the robberies and identified the suspects involved.

On November 21st, 2010 one of the suspects, an 18 yr. old Hamilton man, turned himself in to police. On November 22nd, 2010 the other two suspects, a 16 yr. old male and a 17 yr. old male were arrested.

Charged: Sharmarke WEYD 18 yrs. of Hamilton
Charges: Robbery x 2, Forcible Confinement, Disguised with Intent
