Edmonton police investigating the suspicious death of an infant Carter Auger

The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section is investigating the death of a baby who died just 21 days after his first birthday.

A call to 911 originally came in seeking medical assistance for the infant on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 at a residence in the area of 88 Street and 148 Avenue. The infant was determined deceased on arrival and the matter was considered a sudden death.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner contacted EPS Homicide Section after conducting an autopsy on the baby and an investigation into the suspicious death was initiated.

It was determined that one-year-old Carter Auger, died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

The investigation continues.  

This is Edmonton’s 20th homicide in 2014.
