The Edmonton Police Service has confirmed a suspicious death of a female that occurred in June 2014 as a homicide.

An autopsy was conducted by the Edmonton Medical Examiner on Thursday, June 5, 2014 was undetermined, pending toxicology results.

Freda Goodrunning, 35, died as a result of blunt force trauma. This death was confirmed as a homicide in October 2014 after receiving toxicology results. 

The investigation continues.

This is the 12th homicide of 2014 in Edmonton.

Background

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating the suspicious death of a female, whose body was discovered in West Edmonton on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. 

West Division members responded to a call at an address near 174 Street and Stony PlainRoad, at approximately 1:45 p.m. today. Upon arrival, members found a deceased adult female, inside a detached storage shed at the rear of the address.
