Officers working out of the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have charged a 24-year-old woman in connection with a murder and attempted murder, following a violent home invasion on Helen Avenue in the Town of Markham.

On Monday, November 22, 2010, investigators arrested Jennifer PAN, 24, of Markham, without incident in connection with the November 8, 2010, murder and attempted murder of her two parents.

Ms. PAN has been held in custody for charges of First Degree Murder, Attempted Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder. She will appear next before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Tuesday, November 30, 2010.

On Monday, November 8, 2010, at approximately 10:30 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a residence on Helen Avenue after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting a home invasion. Upon arrival, police discovered Bieh Ha PAN, 53, of Markham, who had succumbed to her injuries inside the residence.

A 57-year-old male was also discovered in the residence, with serious injuries. He was transported to hospital, has since been released and is recovering in a place of safety.

Three suspects involved in this incident remain outstanding. Investigators urge these men to obtain counsel and come forward to police.

SUSPECT #1: Male, black, 20 to 25 years 6’2’’, muscular build
SUSPECT #2: Male, black, 20 to 25 years 6’ to 6’2’’ Skinnier build than suspect #1
SUSPECT #3: Male, white, 20 to 25 years 6’, heavy build, round face
