Toronto man Dustin Macbeth charged in connection to a human trafficking investigation

On Sunday, November 2, 2014, the Toronto Police Service Human Trafficking Enforcement Team started an investigation into a Human Trafficking occurrence. 

It is alleged that: 

– a 19-year-old woman was forced into the sex trade industry 

– the woman was taken to a hotel in Sarnia where she was forced to work as a sex trade worker 

– the woman was forced to hand over a quantity of money to a man 

On Thursday, January 22, 2015, Dustin Macbeth, 22, of Toronto, surrendered to police. He has been arrested and charged with: 

1) Trafficking in Person by Recruiting 
2) Trafficking in Person for Financial /Material Benefit 
3) Procure to become a Prostitute
4) Exercise Control 
5) Live on the Avails of Prostitution 

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Thursday, January 22, 2015. 

Police believe there may be more victims.
