City police have revealed to be investigating a unique theft of an ATM from Casino Calgary. According to the officials, police received a call early this morning about a possible breaking and entering incident. It was later investigated that two or three offenders dressed in dark clothing accessed the casino, which is located in the 1400 block of Meridian Rd. through an exterior door.

Explaining the case, Det. Steve Adair stated that “at approximately 6 a.m. we got call from security at the Calgary Casino on Meridian stating that they thought that they were being robbed.” He added that “further investigation and review of the security video shows that at approximately 5:50 a.m. a door was accessed to the exterior of the Casino and the ATM that was located just inside that door was removed.” According to the police, it believes the suspects fled in a gold coloured mini-van and that no one was injured during the incident. Det. Adair stated that “there was no contact between any of the staff and any of the offenders,” adding that “technically, it was not a robbery, it’s going to be classified as a break and enter.”

Adair pointed out that although the initial reports alleged that firearms were involved, investigation has revealed that no firearm were used in the breaking and entering. Police currently have no information on how much money was taken from Casino Calgary.
