York Regional Police continues to seek public assistance in locating an 18-year-old Markham man who was last seen by his family more than six weeks ago.
Anoush VERDI was last seen on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at approximately 7 p.m. when he left his residence in the area of Bur Oak Avenue and Ninth Line in the Town of Markham. Mr. VERDI left the residence as a result of a dispute with his family.
Members of the family and police are concerned that Mr. VERDI has not contacted them and are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety and well being. Investigators want to emphasis that Mr. VERDI is not in any trouble and are urging him to contact his family or police to alleviate their concerns.
Mr. VERDI is described as:
• Male, South Asian, 18 years, 6′, 240 lbs., heavy build
• Short black hair, brown eyes
• Last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue shorts, blue shoes, wearing glasses and carrying a beige JanSport bag
Police encourage Mr. VERDI, his friends, acquaintances, social media friends or anyone who may know where he is to contact the police.

York Regional Police is releasing the identity of the victim whose remains were found Tuesday in a wooded area near Tomlinson Park in the Town of Markham.
Following a post-mortem examination by the Coroner’s Office, the victim’s identity has been confirmed as Anoush VERDI, 18, of Markham.
Investigators are not releasing the cause of death at this time, however foul play is suspected and officers from the Homicide Unit are investigating.
Mr. VERDI had been missing from his home since July 13, 2010, when he left his residence in the area of Bur Oak Avenue and Ninth Line.
On Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at approximately 12:25 p.m., police were called to a wooded area of Tomlinson Park near Treeline Court in Markham after a man walking through the park discovered the body.
