Kyle James Bird charged for assaulting a 71 year old man in Toronto

On Thursday, December 2, 2010, police arrested a man in connection with a serious assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

– the accused was in the Yonge Street/Alexander Street area,

– the accused punched a 71-year-old man in the face, causing him to fall to the ground,

– 32 Division Superintendent Bob Clarke was in the area, came to the aid of the victim, and arrested the accused.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Kyle James Bird, 24, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

1) Assault causing bodily harm

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Friday, December 3, 2010, room 501, at 10 a.m.
