88 year old man dies after a kitchen fire in London

The London Police Service and the Ontario Fire Marshall are investigating a fire that occurred at 876 Van St on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at approximately 10:30 pm. An 88 year old male was transported to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and burns. The male has since succumbed to his injuries.

The coroner has been notified and the London Police Service is investigating the death on behalf of the coroner. The fire is not considered suspicious.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has indicated that the fire started in the kitchen. The kitchen appliances are being examined to determine a source.
