51 year old man ends up fighting the police in Ajax

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was called after a Pickering man was injured during an arrest yesterday.

On Monday, December 6, 2010 at approximately 5:30 p.m. officers were called to First Towing on Notion Road in Ajax regarding a disturbance. A 51-year-old Pickering man had arrived earlier at the business to pick up his impounded vehicle and have it towed to a mechanic in Scarborough. While towing the vehicle to the mechanic, the Pickering man began assaulting the tow truck driver, who then turned around and returned back to the business on Notion Road.

An officer arrived and discovered the 51-year-old Pickering man walking northbound away from the business. The officer proceeded to arrest the suspect and during the arrest, the male received non-life threatening facial injuries. He was taken to Rouge Valley Ajax Pickering Hospital where he was treated and released.
