Joshua Terry charged for the murder of Daniel Pepin in Dorchester Penitentiary

A 25-year-old man originally from Moncton has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of an inmate at the Dorchester Penitentiary in September. The charge was laid in Moncton Provincial Court today.

On September 10, 2010, ,44-year-old Daniel Pepin, originally from Quebec, died of injuries sustained in an altercation in the Shepody Healing Centre of the Dorchester Penitentiary.

25-year-old Joshua Terry now faces first degree murder charges in the death. At the time, Terry was being held in Dorchester in order to under go a psychiatric assessment. He is currently being held at the Atlantic Institution in Renous, N.B. The lawyer representing Terry requested an adjournment and the matter was adjourned until December 23, 2010.
