Three Nevada men arrested after attempted home invasion in Vancouver

USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Three men from Nevada have been charged with weapons offences and a fourth man is also facing charges after the group allegedly tried to force their way into an apartment in downtown Vancouver on December 10th.

Around 10:00 p.m. Friday night, an occupant inside an apartment suite on Melville Street called 9-1-1 to report that a group of people were allegedly trying to force their way inside. The men took off after 9-1-1 was called and police caught up with them near Bute and Pender streets where they were taken into custody. A handgun was seized during the arrests.

Vancouver Police later returned to the apartment to conduct further investigation into the incident and ended up arresting one of the occupants for drug offences. A large quantity of drugs was seized.

Three Nevada residents are facing the following charges:

· Vennard Leespartero Espina, age 30, is charged with break and enter, use of a firearm, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose

· Devon Rucilez, age 25, is charged with careless use of a firearm, carrying a weapon or prohibited device, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and knowingly possessing a firearm without a license

· Sione Mafi Vainuku, age 25, is charged with carrying a weapon or prohibited device.

Charges are also pending against a fourth man with a Surrey address. It is unclear at this time if he has a connection to the state of Nevada.

The men will be appearing in provincial court on December 16th at 9:00 a.m.
