Three arrested in stolen property ring in Calgary

The Calgary Police Service and the RCMP have seized thousands of pounds of stolen copper wire, as well as vehicles, weapons and drugs from a rural residence northeast of the city.

On Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, officers from numerous areas of the CPS and the RCMP executed a search warrant on a property near Delacour, on Township Road 254.

The following stolen property was located:

2003 F-350 (Confirmed stolen)
Big Bear ATV (Confirmed stolen)
Zhejiang Renli Dune Buggy (Confirmed stolen)
Vanguard Banshee Ski Boat (Confirmed stolen)
John Deere ATV (Confirmed stolen)
Approximately 3,000 pounds of copper wire, valued at $7,500
Marijuana (small quantities)
Shotgun
Rifle
Semi-automatic long rifle
Pump-action long rifle
Three pellet guns
Various ammunition
Bows
Knives
Bear Spray
Lead-weighted gloves

The copper wire was stolen from a substation near Balzac, the truck from Penhold, the Bear Bear ATV from Brooks, the dune buggy from Priddis, and the John Deere ATV from Brooks.

The copper wire has since been returned to the company from which it was stolen. The rest of the property will be returned to the rightful owners as soon as possible.

Six people were on the property at the time, and three have since been charged. The three remaining were released without charge.

Donald Patrick MACAULAY, 40, faces 38 charges, Lisa Marlene MARTIN, 46, faces 20 charges, and Kieran GOLDSMITH, 33, who was located on a motor home on the rear of the property, was arrested on 10 outstanding warrants.
