A number of roads that had been blocked in various locations across New Brunswick, particularly in central and southwestern parts of the province, due to a high amount of rain over the past days have now been re-opened.

The public is asked to take precautions when driving. In some locations, water is over the roadways causing erosion to the shoulder of the roads.

Barricades have been erected where roads are closed due to unsafe conditions. These barricades have been set up for people’s protection and motorists are asked not to drive around the barricades as they risk injury to themselves and their passengers.

People should be cautious around standing water as powerlines may be down. In areas where there is extensive flooding, people should stay home if they are able to until the waters subside.

People in low lying areas should watch for rising water levels even though the heavy rains have subsided.
