The CPS received a tip from a member of the public that an individual was viewing child pornography on a home computer. Further investigation led officers to execute a search warrant on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at a home in the 4300 block of Bowness Road N.W.
Members of the High Risk Offender Program, with assistance from the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) South Integrated Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, seized several pieces of computer equipment, including hard drives, towers and DVDs.
Eric (Erik) Brian WANAMAKER, 62, has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography. WANAMAKER was remanded in custody and made his first court appearance this morning.
WANAMAKER was no longer under court order to be monitored by the CPS High Risk Offender Program.
