Sanad Rayes and Starr Bryte Nguyen charged with drug trafficking, Edmonton

Continued good work by members of the Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement (EDGE) Unit resulted in another successful CDSA search warrant being executed in the City of Edmonton.

On the evening of Thursday, Dec. 14, EDGE Unit executed the CDSA warrant in the area of 52 Street and 124A Avenue, resulting in the confiscation of various drugs, ammunition and cash, and the arrest of two people.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of over a kilogram of cocaine, 45 lbs of marihuana, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and approximately $1,700 cash. The cocaine, if sold at the kilogram level would be worth approximately $47,000. If sold at the gram level, it would be worth approximately $100,000. The marihuana, if sold at the pound level would be worth approximately $110,000. If sold at the ounce level, it would be worth approximately $145,000. One man and one woman face a total of 14 charges. EDGE Unit continues to investigate.

Sanad Rayes, 24, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x4, possession of proceeds of crime, careless storage of ammunition, knowingly possessing ammunition when prohibited and possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

A 24-year-old female, Starr Bryte Nguyen, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x4, possession of proceeds of crime, and careless storage of ammunition.
