The Calgary Police Service is investigating an attempted sexual assault in the city’s northwest.

Around 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, a woman was walking through the parking lot in the 5300 block of 53 Ave. N.W. when she was approached from behind and struck in the back of the head several times. A man placed his hand over her mouth and threatened her.

A brief struggle ensued and the offender eventually fled toward the Dalhousie LRT station.

The victim reported this incident to police on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

The suspect is described as 25 to 40 years old, medium build, with a low voice and wearing cloth or wool gloves.
