Nicholas Miller charged with firearm offences in Mississauga

Investigators from Peel Regional Police Street Crime Gang Unit working in conjunction with officers from their Strategic and Targeted Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) have made an arrest in relation to the seizure of a fully loaded handgun.

Officers from the Street Crime Gang Unit and S.T.E.P. working within their mandate to investigate information regarding firearms have arrested a suspect, Nicholas MILLER, an 18 year old man from Mississauga, on Tuesday, December 22, 2010.

The investigation resulted in a criminal code search warrant being executed in a Mississauga apartment on Glen Erin Drive and a .380 caliber handgun was seized. 

Nicholas MILLER appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Wednesday, December 23, 2010, to answer to the following charges; seven handgun related offences, one count of possessing a controlled substance and one count of breaching a recognizance. Miller was also wanted for several other offences in the Hamilton area.

Officers on the S.T.E.P. program are deployed strategically to assist in high crime areas and in the suppression of gang activity.
