Investigators from Peel Regional Police’s Homicide Bureau have made a second arrest in relation to the Region’s fifth homicide of 2010.

On Saturday, August 21, 2010, at approximately 10:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting on Wickstead Court in Brampton. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Darren McLEAN, a 23 year-old Brampton man, at his residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Attempts to provide medical assistance to Mr. McLEAN were unsuccessful and he was subsequently pronounced dead.

On Thursday, December 23, 2010, the Homicide Bureau arrested Michael McINTOSH, a 20 year-old former resident of Brampton currently of no fixed address, for second degree murder. McINTOSH appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on December 24, 2010.

Investigators have also arrested 26 year-old David Henry THOMAS, a 24 year old Brampton man, for Accessory After the Fact to Murder. THOMAS is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on December 24, 2010, where he will be charged.

Officers from the Homicide Bureau are continuing their search for other suspects involved in this murder. It is strongly recommended that these suspects obtain legal counsel and turn themselves into police
