Man arrested after another home invasion in Calgary

On December 24th 2010 at approximately 00:20 AM, two culprits illegally entered a private residence in the 100 block of San Diego Manor NE. The noise of their entry awoke the lone adult occupant who called a friend for help. Upon the friends arrival a brief altercation occurred after which both culprits fled the house.

Police were called and contained the area, a police Canine Unit located a suspect hiding in a yard a short distance away and he was arrested. The second culprit made good his escape.

The Robbery Unit is handling this investigation which is still in the preliminary stages and the motive is unknown.

The culprit who escaped is described as follows:

White male, 20 to 30 yrs, medium build, approx 5’9”, 180 lbs, black jacket, jeans.

The suspect who was arrested is still being interviewed; charges are anticipated but have not yet been laid.
