A Toronto man is set to appear in a Jamaican court charged with the attempted murder of his wife. Paul Martin, 43 of Ajax was arrested on December 23.
 
According to the reports, a road in Falmouth was the scene of the incident, just east of the resort community of Montego Bay where the couple was vacationing. A passing taxi driver was witness to a struggle between two people in a parked car. He turned around and returned to find Cathy Lee Martin outside of the vehicle with her throat slashed. He rushed the woman to a hospital where she underwent surgery and survived.
 
Apparently the accused went to the police station and told a story of his wife being attacked by a carjacker. He was arrested and remains in custody.
 
Cathy Lee Martin is now out of hospital and remaining in an undisclosed location on the island.
