A 26 year old Port Coquitlam man is in hospital recovering from multiple stab wounds after a violent altercation Monday afternoon in the 1200 block of Kingsway. The VPD Major Crime Section is investigating and no arrests have been made.

Around 5:00 p.m. on December 27th, a group of men got into a fight on the sidewalk in front of the Hai Phong Vietnamese Restaurant on Kingsway Avenue. During the altercation, one of the men was stabbed repeatedly in the abdomen and head. The fight broke up and the injured man and his friend got into their vehicle and drove themselves to hospital. A black Jeep Cherokee believed to be linked to the incident was seen speeding out of the area.

The 26 year old victim was rushed into surgery and is now listed in stable condition. He has stab wounds to his abdomen, back and head. It is unclear what ignited the dispute between the men, however, investigators believe this was a targeted assault. There is no suspect information available.
