A 23 year-old Regina male is charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the death, on Saturday morning (January 15th), of a 21 year-old Regina male. The incident occurred at a dwelling in the 400 block of Montreal Street.

At approximately 4:31 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011, police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Montreal Street for a report of an altercation. As police were making their way to the address, additional information was received indicating a male had been seriously injured. Police and EMS arrived and located an adult male who was pronounced deceased at the scene, by EMS. Police secured the scene, requested the Coroner and began investigation to determine the circumstances of the victim’s death. The victim has been identified as 21 year-old Colton Lee QUEWEZANCE, DOB: 1989-09-14, of Regina. The investigation into QUEWEZANCE’s death led to an arrest, at about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011; the 23 year-old suspect was arrested at a house in the Glencairn neighbourhhood.

Twenty-three year-old William Gary KAISWATUM, DOB: 1987-02-01, is charged with Second-Degree Murder [235(1) CC] and Breach of Recognizance [145(3) CC]. KAISWATUM will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011.
