USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…On Friday, December 3, 2010, police responded to a call for a shooting/arson at 489 Winona Drive.

It is alleged that:

– a man and the accused were involved in a legitimate business venture,

– a dispute ensued over money the accused believed he was owed,

– the accused threatened the victim and his family on several occasions, in attempts to extort money from him.

It is further alleged that:

– on Friday, December 3, 2010, at 11:35 p.m. the accused attended the home of the same man, armed with a silver handgun,

– the accused walked up to the front door of the home, which was occupied by the victim’s wife and two young children, and fired two rounds into the front door,

– the accused then fired three rounds into the victim’s vehicle, which was parked in the driveway,

– the accused then dropped the firearm on the driveway of an adjacent home and fled the scene.

It is further alleged that:

– on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 1:40 a.m., the accused, accompanied by two men, attended the home of the victim at 489 Winona Drive, again while the victim’s wife and two young children were at home,

– the accused and other men proceeded to light and throw four firebombs at the front of the home,

– the accused and other suspects then fled the scene.

On Sunday, December 19, 2010, Atanas Markov, 26, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) three counts of Threatening Death,
2) Extortion,
3) two counts of Attempted murder while using firearm,
4) Discharge firearm endanger life,
5) Firearm careless use,
6) Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
7) four counts of Attempted murder,
8) Attempt Arson: disregard for human life,
9) six counts of Possession Property obtained by Crime

The accused is also known to use several aliases:

1) Michael Goldstein, 28
2) Romanov Alexander, 28
3) Basamir Gatsalov, 28
4) Alexander Stoianov, 29
5) Alexander Koln, 28
6) Petros Stanopol, 28

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Friday January 21, 2011, at 10 a.m. room 306.

Police believe there may be other victims.
