Hamilton Police Officer Hoang Pham charged with auto fraud

A six-year member of the Hamilton Police Service was arrested and charged on January 26, 2011.

On September 30, 2010, it is alleged that Cst. Hoang Pham falsely reported his personal vehicle stolen to Hamilton Police. The vehicle was recovered.

On October 12, 2010, it is alleged that he reported his personal vehicle stolen to Waterloo Regional Police. The vehicle was recovered, with obvious fire damage. Both alleged thefts were reported to his insurance company. Hamilton Police have made the following arrest:

Charged: Hoang Pham, 31 years, Cambridge
Charges: Arson for a Fraudulent Purpose
Attempt Fraud Over $5,000
Public Mischief x 2
Breach of Trust

Officer Hoang Pham was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of March 10, 2011. The Officer has been suspended from duty.
