The Hamilton Police Service has arrested and charged a Hamilton man with numerous offences after investigating a robbery that took place in a Central Hamilton home.

On Monday January 31st, 2011 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a home on Cannon St. E. near Sanford Ave. N. to investigate an alleged robbery that had just occurred at the home.

The victim, a 23 yr. old man, told police that a man known to him as Malcolm CRANE had entered his home at approximately 5:00 p.m. without his knowledge. It is alleged that CRANE, while armed with a firearm, demanded cash and prevented the victim from leaving the home. CRANE assaulted the victim and then fled with the victim’s cell phone. Hamilton Police were called after CRANE fled the home.

Hamilton Police continued to investigate and located the suspect in the area of Wentworth St. N and Wilson St. He was arrested and charged with numerous offences. He is expected to appear for a bail hearing today. The firearm was not located.
