Police are appealing for witness information after a 17-year-old Oshawa male was stabbed multiple times Sunday night.

On Sunday January 30, 2011 at approximately 8:50 p.m. officers from Central East Division responded to a stabbing incident on Rideau Street in Oshawa. The 17-year-old male victim was exiting an apartment complex when he was accosted by three male suspects and stabbed several times. The suspects fled and were not apprehended by responding officers. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he received medical treatment for his serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.

Investigators do not believe this was a random act and may be related to a drug transaction. Witnesses report the three suspects are described as: male, white wearing bandanas across their faces and are approximately 17-19 years of age.
