Man dies after being hit by TTC bus, Toronto

On Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 12:01 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision on Bloor Street West, at Concord Avenue.

It is reported that:

– the driver of a TTC bus was travelling westbound in the passing lane of Bloor Street West,

– the driver was making a right turn to go northbound on Concord Avenue,

– a 62-year-old man was crossing Concord Avenue, from the west side at an angle, to the northeast side of the street,

– the bus struck the man, who was not within the intersection, knocking him to the ground, where he struck his head on the curb.

The man was taken to hospital where he died.
