A 50-year-old city man appeared in court this morning to answer to charges in connection with a fire at an apartment located at 123 Street and 106 Avenue on Monday night.
Police received a call of a trouble with person at the apartment complex around eight o’clock. When members arrived on scene smoke was coming from the suite. A male was found inside the apartment suffering from what appeared to be smoke inhalation. He was transported to hospital. Initially, because of his condition, he was unable to answer questions from police. He has since been released from hospital and has answered to the charges.
50-year-old Keith Ireland has been charged with one count of arson to property (disregard for human life).
