A man wanted Canada-wide for theft after he allegedly stole a vehicle belonging to a woman he met through an online dating website in early January has been captured .

Vancouver Police arrested 36 year old Thomas James Newman around 11:30 p.m. on February 4th after a caller to 9-1-1 reported seeing an erratic driver near West 12th and Arbutus. When police caught up with the vehicle, the driver failed to stop. Officers were able to pull the car over in the 4000 block of West 15th Avenue and arrested the lone occupant who turned out to be Newman. A black Honda Civic reported stolen in January was recovered with stolen license plates attached.

Thomas Newman will appear in court later today and is facing several additional charges relating to possession of stolen property and driving offences.
