17 year old girl dead after their vehicle goes off the wharf in Hantsport

UPDATE: Windsor District RCMP regret to advise a 17 year-old Windsor, Nova Scotia girl has died as a result of injuries sustained in this crash. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Background:

At approximately 10:20 am Windsor District RCMP was dispatched to a report that a vehicle had gone off the wharf at the end of William Street in Hantsport.

Upon arrival of Detachment Members, Hantsport Volunteer Fire Department Members had removed 2 adult men and 1 teenage girl from the water. All three individuals were transported to hospital and are in critical condition. The extent of injuries is unknown but believed to be life-threatening.

Annapolis Valley Traffic Services are currently on scene conducting the investigation. The cause of this incident is undetermined at present time.
