At the time, there were three residents in their apartment. One of the offenders sprayed them with pepper spray and demanded personal items, and then stabbed one of the victims at least 3 times in the abdomen.
The offenders fled the scene and upon arrival of EMS and Police, the victim was in serious life threatening condition and was transported to Hospital. At about 9:40 pm, CPS members circulated the area for the culprits and with the assistance of the Real Time Operations Centre (RTOC), a suspect was arrested while walking near 13th Avenue & 8 Street S.W.
The Robbery Unit is currently investigating this offence. The male victim, believed to be approximately 50 years of age, remains in critical condition. Police believe this was a targeted attack. Further details will be released by the Robbery Unit as they become available.
