On Tuesday February 8, 2011 at approximately 2:25 PM London Police responded to several 911 calls reporting a robbery at the Gordon’s Gold Jewelry store at 760 Hyde Park Road. In this case 2 male suspects, both wearing hoods, entered the store, with one of the suspects armed with what was described as a handgun. Initial reports indicated that a shot may have been fired before the suspects began smashing the display cases and grabbing merchandise. The suspects fled the store with a quantity of display jewelry, to an awaiting motor vehicle. That motor vehicle, which was stolen earlier in the day, was found by police a short distance away on Headly Drive.

There were approximately 11employees in the store at the time of the robbery and none were injured.

Police have not uncovered any evidence at this time to support the fact that a gun had been fired in the store.
