Investigators working out of the York Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit have charged a 25-yearold Markham man after an incident of Internet luring.

In December 2010, officers received information that led them to investigate an incident of Internet luring. The suspect is alleged to have engaged in sexually exploitive conversation online with a 15-year-old female. As a result of these online conversations, the suspect is alleged to have set up a meeting for a sexual purpose in September 2010.

On Thursday, February 10, 2011, the suspect was arrested near his residence without incident. A Criminal Code search warrant was executed on his residence where investigators seized a quantity of items including three computer hard drives, six cell phones and 30 compact discs.

Investigators believe there may be more victims who may have been contacted through an alias user name similar to Luva Luva.

CHARGED:

• Tyler WHITE, 25, of Markham

CHARGES:

• Luring a Person Under 16 years x 5
• Sexual Assault
• Sexual Interference
• Making Child Pornography
• Invitation to Sexual Touching

Mr. White has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket sometime today for a bail hearing.
