Hamilton hockey coach Richard McKinnon charged with sexual assault and child pornography

The Hamilton Police Service has arrested and charged a Hamilton man alleged to be involved in sexual and child pornography offences.

On February 10, 2011, Hamilton Police were called to a residence on the Hamilton Mountain for a dispute. Upon police arrival, the investigation was assigned to the Victims of Crime Unit.

Through the investigation, a historical sexual assault was reported. A search warrant was executed at his residence with the assistance of the ICE Unit.

At the time of the incident, between 2001 and 2006, he coached in the Mount Hamilton Minor Hockey Association. The accused is currently a coach in the Mount Hamilton Minor Hockey Association Minor Pee Wee Division.

Charged: Richard McKINNON, 46 years of age of Hamilton

Production of Child Pornography

Hamilton Police believe there may be further victims and are asking anyone with additional information to contact the police.
